"The best tires in the super swamper line up!
Those thornbirds have huge gaps between the lugs for great cleaning w/ low wheel speed....
And those giant outside lugs can pull you through anything."
I have wondered for YEARS why this particular line of tire still exists. I have NEVER seen any off road machine run them. I did, however, have a buddy who picked up a set for cheap and put them on his F250 4x4. They sucked in EVERY, SINGLE aspect. **** poor mileage, traction, wear, sound.....blah. Two thumbs down from me.
i have a set bought brand new from my buddy that got 44's for 400 dollar. dont really see whats so bad about them. they ride like any other 38.5/14.50 i had. i have been muddin with them, been in snow, and what tire really does good on ice? its not my daily drive so im not going to drop alot on a "good tire".. i would never buy them brand new but thats personal opinion. most people who RATE them have never owned them just heard what their cousins boyfriend said. learn to drive on the tires you got http://s165.photobucket.com/albums/u...Lifted%20F150/
I had a set of them on a chevy................. yeah they sucked, and my cousins boyfriend said the same thing. personally, i think that my a/ts on my bronco did better.
Same as Chrono. As mentioned above I had them on my 96 ranger. My cousins girlfriends brother hated them too. Bob, if you like these tires in the mud there mustve been some wet sand on top of the asphalt at the grocery store that you played in. Anything deeper and you would be on the frame.
yeah ill load you some pictures of the pond i was in. oh yeah and the motor that was full of water when i was done. and the carpet that i had to yank out. its personal prefrence pops, learn to drive. i run trucks hard, blow them up and leave them where they sit, thats the kind of mud i get it. my jeep is still 2 miles back on my main property. i have other tires but i had my siphed so they road just like the 38 mts on 20s i have on my 06 diesel. so i have plenty of mud to get in
if you look real hard back there behind my lake you might be able to see my jeep..

awful tires i dropped $300 on a set of thirty fives from my buddy and absolutley hated them theyre even made for sand and suck in it as well as mud and on the road. dont buy these!!!
You must have bought the one set of thornbirds out of the hundred of thousands that have been made that were worth a ****. I dont care how big a motor you have how bad the mud is how expert of a driver you are THE TIRES SUCK and they are WORTHLESS even as an AT. There has been 27 post before this one and you are the only guy who likes the tires shouldnt that tell you something? Go out and buy yourself a set of swampers or boggers and maybe you wont have to leave your trucks stuck in the mud. That build it and leave it mentality is beyond my comprehension. Of course bald tires will go through some mud. They dont dig just spin on top. Man get a clue!
Oh BTW why dont you post how much you love the thornbirds over on pirate. Some of those guys will come to your house and beat your a$$. I hate getting mad. I havent been in quite some time. Thanks!
I bought the Birds when they first came out and been running them ever since trying to get my moneys worth.. then i will be getting IROKS or BOGGERS, these tires are not very good at all and i can show you my video of me wheeling with them heres a link..
they do ok.. but i think my bfg mud terrains did allot better.. these are cheap new i guess there is a reason for that.. i payed 232 per tire for 38.5 14.5 16.5's i wouldnt buy them again.. they do suck on the road.. and are not very effective offroad... chevy out my video and you will see you have to USE ALLOT OF TIRE SPIN.. im runnin them on my 86 F350 diesel so i have allot of power and weight to get them going... they sure do throw some mud though man! them lugs are mud/snow flingers!
Heres another video of me with the birds comming up a kinda wet hill
