Years ago my uncle cleaned the injectors on his Crown Vic by screwing this hose on to the shrader valve on the injector rail and a pressurised can of injector cleaner to the other end of the hose, ran the car for a min. from the stuff that was in the can til it ran out. do they still have that stuff ? it worked real good, where do i buy it ?
Stuff from Ford that you put in the tank ? the stuff he used worked real good... he said " now dat aint gonna get no cleener " old newyork italian converted to californian-
did seafoam on the lil bronco and all hell came out of the tailpipe so i guess it works, i just wanted something hardcore and immediate for these injectors
Fuel additives scare the beejeesus out of me. They ruin fuel pumps as far as I am concerned. I would go find the gumout fuel injector rail cleaner any day of the week.
I have used Berryman Fuel Injector cleaner/dump in tank, and pretty much prepared to change the pump within 3 months. I think dump in tank fuel cleaners are total garbage. and your just setting yourself up for a fuel pump change.
Most garages use the rail type cleaner for a reason. Warranty issues, I am sure. they won't tell you that, but I would put money on it.
I can see them eating holes in diaphragms in regulators and everything.
Remember, a fuel pump uses GAS as a lubricant. If you mess with the properties of the GAS, you stand a chance to wipe out your fuel pump.
