Do any of you guys have this exhaust? I'm starten to shop for some go fast parts and thought the exhaust would be a good start. The system is affordable and I like the steped downpipe. Jerod at pinnacle said they build more torque at the lower rpms with desing. Any info would be helpfull. Thanks,Bud.
They use 3.5" for about 18" then step to 4". It's a one peice desing. He said it has to do with keeping the velocity high. Jerod claims the 4" down pipes are great for redline hose power where as the steped desing spreds the power out through the band. I checked out their web site, Jerry Jardine who owns Pinnacle Power, has been building exhaust for a long time. Their's a bitchen picture of an old funny car of Don Schumacher and Tom Mcewin on the web site. www.pinnaclepowerexhaust.com.
All of the other venders I looked at has the 4" downpipe. I don't understand why go from 4" out of turbo to 3.5" down to 4" piipe the rest of the way. He may know more about this then most do. I went with DIESEL MANOR-MBRP 409 SS with 5" SS tip. I installed the muffler and glad I did.
try this http://stores.ebay.com/MKO-DIESEL-PERFORMANCEi have the 4" down pipe into a 5" strait to the 6X18 chrome tip..i painted it black with stove paint to keep it from rusting..been little over a year and the paint hasnt even flacked..and i live where road salt is an every day thing.. i think it was $410 at my door...
I tried to find more info on MKO. Seems he only has an ebay store. Pinnacle Is a manufacturer. I call their and I can actually talk to some one who knows about exhaust. Nothing against MKO, I'm sure he's great. I just prefer to buy American and from somebody i know will have my back 5-6 yrs down the road.
Looks like you have (had) your mind made up on which one you want. Buy it, install it, and have a good time with it. You should get many years enjoyment from this setup. Good luck.
