Nice job!!!!!!
But, from my P.o.V., it looks out of place, just the same as the rest that uses modern Steering Columns, as they do not blend well w/ the orignal 50's design.
I bought a front suspension from a '79 Cordoba and got the tilt column and a '67 Mustang master cyl for my '56.
The column bolted right in and I've used the whole thing except the master cyl. since '99.
The column, even tho it's a Chrysler, has a Chev (GMC?) wire plug on it.
I didn't use those wires as I used an after mkt wiring kit.
At the time I used a FMC floor shifter, but just installed a Lokar big honkin' shifter.
Why? Because I could!
Key in the column or dash is the problem. If you can move the key to the column, there are all kinds of columns that work including ford. Buti, if you want to keep the key in the dash, you're limited. Mid fifyies Chevy van tilt is one but they are getting rare. I got one off ebay for about $150 with shipping and have seen only a couple more at swapmeets. It fits the length perfect to a Volare power steering box. (needs a Chevy to Chrysler spline adapter) I haven't run it yet so I don't know if it needs bearing. Any any case, keyless tilt column its an expensive proposition. Used column is probably not that much cheaper in the long run.
Nice fabrication work on the install M54; did you use set screws or bolts to fasten column to sleeve through firewall ?
Tom
I actually welded clips to the column then spot welded the sleeve to them. The whole assy. comes out as one unit with the column mounting bolts at the dash and the thur the floor mount bolts.
The bottom part of the sleeve will mount with flat head screws
I have a column out of a 85 Ford van I'm not gonna use cause I'm running a floor shifter, If anybody needs one. Hopefully I'll find one that doesn't have column shift in Charlotte this weekend.

Mike;
I didn't think of that; it may be a good solution. I was thinking I'd weld extra material to the sleeve, then drill and tap through the floor bracket. Now I've got two methods to ponder.
