9/11 is near. I would sure like to be able to look up and down the streets of the USA and see red white and blue flags flying on as many homes and businesses as possible.
Let everyone know that we have not forgotten.
I'm going to fly the flag from my brother's burial circa 1968.
unfortunantly, i have no place to fly mine.
i do have an American flag decal on my back truck window. And that was there long before 9/11, because i have always felt that as American's we need to support our country and all the members of our Armed Forces, and civil services (police, fire, EMT, etc), past, present, and future, whether they are at home or abroad, in times of peace, as well as times of war.
ive also got a larger flag decal on my front window of my house (also pre-9/11). im considering hanging my flag on my garage door for the day as well, but like i said, while memorials are important, true patriatism is what you do on every other day of the year.

Exactly right. I fly my flag not only in honor of those lost, those who served, those who currently serve, but also for the rights and freedoms this country was founded on. As more and more of those rights and freedoms are stripped away in the name of "security", it seems I fly the flag almost in protest as much as a tribute.
saw the buildings come down standing on karney ave in nj that day, will never forget it.
im not much of a flag flier, and probably wont,
it was tough that day standing next to my 87 year old grandmother who has alzhiemers, trying to explain to her why we have scumbags doing what they were doing.
