I was wondering what my options are as far as carbureted intake manifolds go for my 302? I wasn't sure since it's a truck that other non-truck 302 manifolds would work on it. I have also heard of people using mustang manifolds, so I wasn't sure. My dad has a manifold from his '72 Mustang 302. Would this work?
Well I've went to jegs.com and 302 manifolds are limited in the truck section, but there is a lot under the mustang 302's. I thought they would not interchange, but now that I think of it, I thought I heard of someone using a mustang manifold on their truck. Just wanting to see if any know's FOR SURE from experience.
I'm beginning to think they are seperated because manifolds are designed to meet the power band and needs of a truck...? They may still fit.
Any 302 intake will work fine. When I did my swap I used an edelbrock performer manifold and I am pretty happy with it. The mustang manifold will work too. Summit also makes their own manifolds that are slightly cheaper than other brands that you may want to consider.

It'll be a 2 barrel, cast iron & heavy as hell. The carb that comes on it will have bigger venturis than the secondaries of a small holley & will suck gas like no tommorow. Any non-boss 302 intake will work. If you must go carb, find a cheap aluminum dual plane (Professional Products, Weiand) & pair it with a small 425-500 cfm Holley.
Actually, I wasn't referring to a stocker, my dad's intake manifold is made by B&M and allows for a blower to sit nice and "purdy" on top! If it fit my dad's '72 non boss 302, it will fit the 302 in my truck?
Then you'll only have several other issues to over come to make the whole shootin' match work. To be perfectly honest I figured someone whould have jumped in to dissuade you from this course of action before now.
A blower manifold? Does it come with the blower?
I know they make block off plates for tunnel rams, But an adaptor plate for a blower manifold kinda defeats the purpose. It'll have short runners & no low end torque.

I have forgotten though, what is the limit of the stock internals on my '92 302? I'm trying to decide how much boost I will run until I get a new rotating assembly.
dude only run 6 to 8 pounds with stock internals your head gaskets will fail. I am all for a carb motor but it will be a pain in the azz to covert it to carb I would just to NOS on the EFI 302 you have now cheaper and easier and still keep the efficancy of the EFI
