Oh, I wouldn't run more than 6 psi on it. The engine is aged and I'm sure can't take too much power. As for efficiency, the EFI motor in it sucks gas REALLY bad already, so I can't see the carb swap hurting too much. I don't think the carb swap will be that hard. The hardest thing for me is changing trannys. I have a rear main seal leak as it is, so the tranny will already be coming off. My uncle is putting the transmission in for me for free. I already have a distributor and manifold to use. The only other major things I need is a fuel pressure regulator and a holley carburetor. I guess then I can take out the computer and everything connected?

2-3%? So you are saying MAYBE losing 1 mile per gallon? If that's the price, I'll take it! I expect it to actually be more than that though since I have decided to throw the blower on.

Well I understand the stock motor will not last very long, and I am goiong to rebuild it eventually anyways. Whats the stock internal hp limit? I'm going to try to keep it on the safer side until I'm ready to rebuild, but if it comes earlier, oh well. What's the most cubic inches you can get from the 302 without boring?

well the stock rods and crank can handel near 600 horse but the stock block will fail and split in half. well w/o boring or stroking then 302 is all you can get if you bore to .03 it will be a 306 i would not take a 302 more than .040 over which would roughly be 308 cubic inches you can srke it to 331ish or a 347 if it were me i would just replace it with a 351W the headers will fit the same

Might need to swap the cam...I've noticed a few trucks that wouldn't run worth a damn with the EFI cam...don't know why that is.I'd bet the same on the fuel economy...but you're wantin toput a blower on it right? So, I'm assuming you want speed not fuel economy and you've got something else to drive while you've got that one torn apart. If you're gonna go through the trouble to put a blower on it.....might just wanna go ahead and rebuild it....How many miles does it have?Probly wouldn't get many more with the blower on...no matter how much boost you decide to run.Piston slap soundsreeeeal bad when the rings have been blown out.Button up all the little defects with the engine beforehand so you don't have headaches...hassels.....and a whole lotta nothing goin on.Just my .02
