Just had my o-rings and fuel filter replaced but I've noticed the smell of diesel fuel when I come to a stop or even when I drive over a speed bump. Anybody else? It also seems like I get terrible gas mileage, just got the truck not long ago but already done 1700 bucks worth of work to it! Was in failsafe mode, checked the fipl and tach sensor, both were in range, cleared the codes and so far so good! Just hate that smell! 93 f350 turbo c/c 126000 mi. Thanks.
you might pull the fuel filter off and check to make sure the gasket from the old filter didn't stay on the housing instead of coming off with the filter. if it's still on there when you put the new filter on, it leaks like a dog. rather not say how i know, but been there with the leaky fuel.
I have had to retorque my fuel filter every time I've changed one after a week or two of install FWIW, especially with the aftermarket filters, last one I bought a motorcraft from the dealer, but eventually had to retorque it too!
If you cant find any return lines leaking or injector fastners leaking and the line nuts behind the injection pump or the fuel filter, you might want to check the injection pump neck, just behind the mounting flange at the bottom there is a weep hole to allow fuel to drip out istead of getting into the lube system. It is a hard spot to check, difficult to reach with your finger tips but can be done.

I think this is the problem I am having. Is there a fix for this, or does this mean the IP needs replaced??
the weep hole leaking is a sign of internal seals wearing from the lack of lubrication from the ultra low sulfur fuel. I doubt it will heal itself. sorry.
but make sure you check all the injector lines at the distribution head for leaks. Sometimes if one of the injection line clamps is missing, the line will vibrate and cause a crack in the line. Check carefully before spending money.
