92 7.3 charging problem
lately I have been having charging issues with the truck, i first noticed a couple of weeks ago that the ampmeter on the dash was not readin what it was supposed to. then the other day the batteries just died. The alternator is steadily putting out 13.0 volts or even higher depending on rpm's. the battery voltage when running is over 13 volts too. the wierd thing is that the voltage regulator will get pretty warm right after startup, even when the engine is cold. I think this might be the problem, but I didnt want to spend the money yet until somebody else gives their input.....

if the voltage regulator is getting hot, sounds like something inside is making contact and not letting power to the batteries. if your connections are all clean and tight, may be time to replace the regulator. don't think they're much over $25 or so.
