I know the Dash to the Dells is coming up in 2 weeks up in Wisconsin. Is anybody going to any other shows before the show season is over for the the year. I am thinking about the Blue Ridge Run being put on by Pat Ford and Don Jacks on September 29th
Other than the Charlotte Auto Fair that is only other one on my list. Does anybody know of any good shows coming up that will have a decent (5-10 trucks) F1-F100 turnout, near decent motels and eateries. I am in the TN but will travel. Thanks Donald
Yeah October is basically here. It is dark here in Middle TN at 6:45 already. Is that swap meet a good one in WI? I think I saw an ad for it today in my OLD car weekly newspaper. Find me a good straight rustfree hood for a 53-56 F100 will ya!
2 great shows this weekend in central indiana. james dean in fairmount and ducktail run in gas city. i have to work today but will taking off tomorrow morning for ductail, anyone else going
We still have a few local shows yet to come around here, just small turnouts for the fall festivals. So far it looks like I' the only one in my area with an effie though, I have yet to see another around.
There is a big annual swap meet in Los Lunas NM this weekend, held by the NM Council of Car Clubs. There will be lots of stuff there. BobbyT and I are sharing a booth. A machinist friend of mine is taking a '27 T roadster pickup to sell, and a '31 coupe (I think). I wouldn't doubt there'd be a hood for a mid-fifty there somewhere. I'm selling flathead trans, trans parts, generators, intake manifolds, and some miscellaneous stuff. Let me know if there's something you want us to look out for.

Hey dude, I've always thought about goin to the James Dean run? I never knew where it was exactly, or when it was? It's too late for this year, and I already have other plans, but next year? Who knows? Do they let trucks in? Or is mine too new?(1956)
Thanks for the answers
Maybe we can both plan to ride up next year. BOth of them are held in Central Indiana off I-69. I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana about 60 miles north of both of these shows. The JD Run from what I hear is mostly cars they may let your truck and the Ducktail Run is wide open.

COOL that may work. I'm kind of lookin to "trade" the Supernats show for something else? It's kind of a DUD since they changed it so much?? I love the new place, don't get me wrong, but there's nothing to do for the ladies. There's no standing around talkin till early mornin in the parkin lot anymore either? I miss that!! I do love the extra room!
Yeah I thinkin of trading 3 days at Knoxville for maybe just drive up Friday for the day and then go to the show in Pigeon Forge. It had about 90 trucks and there were guys standing around the trucks talking late into the evening.
they let trucks in both shows. the james dean in fairmount is mosty 40 and 50's cars there are trucks there to. the ducktail in gas city has everything. also its laid out better.

I have gone to the Jefferson swapmeet, when I can, for over 25 years. I rarely find anything pre-60 there. Anything there for older trucks is usually in pretty rough shape and being sold for big bucks. I have found some really good deals on parts for my '48-50 Fords but they're so seldom I wouldn't drive any great distance. I'm in SE WI and my drive is about an hour so I go just because it's a swapmeet and I might find something. There are also the normal vendor selling new items like POR-15, Amsoil and the major welder companies. I wouldn't drive from out of state unless you're looking for stuff for a post '70 Ch**y.
Funny thing is us guys up here always talk about going down to TN to look for old stuff.
