Went to the dealership to check on price and they want 158.35 plus tax.
I dont really want to go to autozone to get one because i dont want to have to do it again .
Anyone have any ideas on where i may get a good quality flexplate for maybe a cheaper price?
I guess yours is broken. Were there any signs (knocking, ticking) that lead you to the flex plate?
Oh yeah. First it was just a quiet ticking,...then it escalated to a loud kind of knocking noise to where you couldnt hear yourself think. Knew it wasnt motor because it still runs fine, Knew it wasnt the trans because it still went through all the gears just fine like normal. Sounded like a loud knocking at the bottom rear of the motor,...but not in the motor. Mostly heard it coasting, slowing down, and idleing. Just not while accelerating
After i slid the tranny back so i could access the flexplate/flywheel...just looking at it i couldnt tell that it was broken. Even after trying to wiggle it around and bending it back and forth i still couldnt tell it was broken. It was when i removed all the bolts and pulled it off the motor then i saw it....The whole center was cracked all the way around. The only reason that the flexplate and torque convertor were still spinning together was because the breakage wasnt in a complete circle. All the edges were jagged so it kind of stayed locked together. The whole center, with the bolt holes in it, litterely fell out of the rest of the flexplate when i pulled it off.
