At first, I intended to go with a Detroit Locker in the rear, with an Eaton E-Locker in the front. After looking at the prices ($840 for the E-Locker) as opposed to the Detroit Locker ($670) I'm thinking the extra $170 would be worth it to just go with the E-Lockers in front and rear. What do you guys think of them?
Has anybody installed a Eaton E-Locker? Other than the normal differential rebuild kit, what kind of parts might I expect to buy? I figured in about $150 of misc. parts...is this very far off?
Ford 8.8 in the rear, and a Dana 44 in the front. I was just looking on Randy's Ring and Pinion and they had them. I still would have to make sure the splines are correct...I'm pretty sure the 8.8 is a 31 spline? And the Dana 44 is a 30 spline. Still researching this though.
I have the e-locker in my 8.8. I have been trying to get one for the D44 for a long time now. The plant moved from Michigan to Mexico and hasn't started production again. I get the same song and dance every time that I call and ask, "in a few weeks" or "the end of the month".
Just because they are listed on the website doesn't mean that you can get it.
