I've got a 91 f350 reg cab with a 460 and zf 5 speed. I'm putting rockwells under it so it's a strictly mud/play truck. I removed the dash and found what I beleived to be the efi computer near the center of the cab. Behind the radio and slightly toward the drivers side. After reading my haynes manual I see the computer is by the e brake foot lever.
Does anyone know what the computer I'm talking about is? It has a either a 14 or 15 prong connection. The truck runs the same wether it is plugged or unplugged. I would like to get rid of it and the wires going to it if possible to make a bit less clutter in the cab. I'll have no dash (other than the small one to hold guages and toggles that I will make) and no heater, fan or anything else.
I don't have a digital camera but if nobody knows what I'm talking about I'll borrow one and get a pic of it.
Ok, well I can't really tell if that light is on since there's no dash, but thanks for the very speedy reply.
There was also one more Plug with a 6 prong hookup near it. A little higher and more towards the driver. It plugged into a Rectangular white box. It's about 2.5" wide, 1 " tall and 3/4" thick. It's a motorcraft part. I googled the part number on it but never got anything. Do you know what that peice would be?
That does sound like the buzzer, it's what makes the noise when you leave the keys in the ignition and open the door, or don't put your seatbelt on. Look for a meshed spot on one side of it.
I don't recall any type of mesh on the side. I'm pretty sure it was a solid peice all around. I'll play around with it and put power to it from a battery and see if I can make it buzz.
