Replace upper ball point
I'm a original owner of a 93 Aerostar. It is 2wd, with 69000 mile. It runs great. But our state inspection said that I need a pasenger side front upper ball joint. I tried to replace it myself. After I chisel out the rivet head, I still can't remove the rest of them. Is any body have succesful experince with this?

center punch a start point hole and drill out with a high quality titanium drill bit, no cheapy import here....the rivets are tough hardened steel
may also be able to drive out if enough of the head is cut off with a high quality flat tip round punch and 3 lb hammer
or use a cutting torch to blow out carefully, professional only
there are also rivet pushers if you can find one, similar to C clamp, spread claw foot to go around head with C frame and screw to force rivet out
