Why couldn't you run a modified pipe like Spartan or Elite sell for like $160 and clear the codes with a tuner like SCT. I would rather purchase a tuner and modified pipe from Matt or Elite than spend $599 on the Liberator kit. Just my thoughts. Good luck with whatever you choose.

My thoughts exactly. Once the cooler is out of the exhaust loop it's not a problem anymore, and either way you still have to have a tuner to turn off the EGR code. $160 vs. $599??
This looks like a winning ticket thanks for the link. I am going to plug back in the EGR wire harness (to prevent hot flashes in the cooler) and I am going to order one of the delete pipes. Many thanks....
based on the pictures the elite diesel and liberator performance EGR deletes are totally different approaches..
can anyone comment on what each one does?? the liberator unit allows full removal of the EGR, do the elite system as well??
Curious thanks!
The Elite Diesel setup just blocks off the Exhaust flow into the EGR cooler and leaves the EGR cooler in place.
The Liberator unit blocks off the exhaust flow, removes the EGR cooler and replaces it with section of pipe for the coolant flow through the engine.
Either system works just fine, the Elite system is much easier to install and since the EGR cooler is no longer being heat cycled by the exhaust the cooler generally will not leak for a very long time. If & when it does leak, with the EGR valve off and closed, no coolant can leak into the cylinders.
With the Liberator system, the top of the engine must be disassemble to remove the EGR cooler and install the coolant bypass pipe. This system takes more time and mechanical ability to install.
Generally the only people who have been completely removing the EGR coolers are those who race the 6.0 and have the motor apart and those who have replaced head gaskets and already had the motor apart. Most people just install the up-pipe delete and turn off the EGR valve.
The choice is yours as to how you want to delete the EGR system on your truck.
Found a kit on ebay to remove/replace egr setup for $128. I ordered it and am going to try to do it myself. I have a puking 06 as well. Gotta start somewhere.

Provide the link to the product you bought. If it is the package I'm thinking of you may have just bought a blue hose and a block off plate for $128. Should have posted and asked because there are way better options out there other than ebay.
Just tried to go back and find site and it as been removed from ebay. For what I know it was the pipe,a red splicer for flexibility, blocker plate and a manual for the 6.0L engine and the how to instructions for the mod. Wait and see when it shows and I will let you know. What is you recommendation or the fix?
Hello all. New to the site but not to 6.0 problems. I just purchased the Liberator kit instead of the block offs for sale on eBay. The Liberator is pricey but I am not upset once I saw it. Nicely made, good welds, purfect fit and good tech support. My dealership left out a lot of gaskets, bolts, shields, etc during a warranty head gasket replacement and the Liberator guys have done a great job fillng in the gaps for me. I will let you know the end results when I get it all back together.

The liberator kit sucks and is a rip off. first coast diesel performance is a much better choice.
