Just bought a new "tone" muffler for my 89 F150 w/302 and had a question about placement. To make it sound the best, should it be placed near the convertors or further away? I'm trying to get the best sound that I can from the least amount of money paid. The muffler I bought is from Cherry Bomb company called Cherry Bomb 2. Its about the same price as the Flowtech I saw on Ebay, just didnt have to wait a week to get.
the closer to the cats you put it the louder its gunna be, i moved mine from just before the rear axle to right after the cats and it increased involume by about 20% and sounds better, it will most liekly increase the volume moving it closer to the cats aswell
Thanks for the info Brian. I definitely want good tone from the new muffler. The wife doesnt want me to put it on but I said "who's truck is it anyways?" . She didnt want to hear that...lol
