While I was under there I looked at all leaf springs and had a die bar which
I used to pry at all things related to suspension and everything seemed tight.
Just went out and jumped up and down on bumper and everthing was quiet.
Nothing is close to sway bars. I'm leaning toward those shocks. Randy
The cracks in my leafs were hair-line and very hard to see, until all of the weight was off of the rear end. Then, the pieces would just slide right out. My wife slapped me when she remembered the narrow mountain road that we were on the day before!!
Sorry, I meant did you check the sway bar bushings? Don't overlook simple things like a loose spare tire, or tools in a toolbox bouncing around.
Does your clunk come bouncing up or down? Is it related to any sway left or right?
The klunking is when it's loaded and I hit just a large Crack in the road not
a huge bump, but it sounds more like I ran over a 2X4 or something. I
didn't notice any sway noise or problems left or right. Just checked the
sway bar bushings and there seems to be a slight amount of clearance
around bar. How tight should they be? Thanks Randy

Did you have it jacked up to get all the weight off the rear axle? Randy
