Little 'back-story'... Had (still have) a 91 Full Size Bronco that I installed a new Sony CD player/radio, a 250 W amp, and 2 - 12in. subs.
I have recently bought a 06 Expedition. I like the radio that is in it, it has the internal CD changer and stuff. Is it possible to hook up the amp and speakers to this factory radio or do I have to buy a new one?
I too have the indash 6 disc and I added subs by putting in a line level converter tied into the rear speakers. I bought the truck and radio side harness from metra, so I could make a plug and play adapter to pull the four wires I needed.
I have never hooked one up, but I would guess you don't have to use them if you don't need them. I see 4 rca outputs, so I am assuming it has 4 wired inputs, and you would leave two sets of each blank.

can you tell me exactly how and where you did this? Theres a huge hidden compartment on the drivers side in the very rear that I can drop this converter and my amp into so it'll never be seen.
I believe I used PNs 70-1771 and 71-1771 and wired them together giving me a plug and play adapter I can pull any wire out of without splicing into the stock wiring. I then Used a Raptor LOCA2 2 channel line level converter. I ran two speaker wires from my harness down to the pass kick panel and put the line level converter there and ran my RCA's back to the amp.
For the converter you bought, you shouldn't have to hook up all 8 leads, but you might as well do it while you have everything apart. For your subs, I would only connect them to the rear speaker channels.
