OK guys, it is about that time in my 88's life where the primary battery lead needs to be replaced.
i have been having starting issues, and now have all the parts to rebuild the starter circuit except for the primary lead.
(new batteries, and new gear reduction starter.)
is there any place other than the dealer or napa to get a primary lead?? napa wants $110, and the dealer is closed today, but i am sure it is gonna be more than napa.
I had to replace the cable on my 84. i got it from the local bumber to bumper I don't recall how much it was, but it was made by standard motor products and the part number is A116-00Hp hope this helps.
did mine for about 50 bucks.
find a local welding supply, i think i used 4 ought cable had them crimp on the copper ring terminals so i could use the battery terminals with the stud and wingnut for ease of removal. Used shrinktubing on all connection ends
and new wire loom. I like the way it looks and i noticed a lot more juice going to the starter.

that is the general idea i had if i can not find one at a better price. i have over 100 ft of #2 welding wire, so all i really need is the cable ends.
