True. But there is the absurdity quotient that has to be met, and you can always count on Tim to fulfull that duty.
Not that I care because I think those pageants are stupid anyway. Why does superficial beauty make you so important that people want you to run around speaking ignorant sentences full of filler phrases that you've been taught so that you can fill till you think of an answer or till you confuse severyone so much they just go huh?? That's all she did!
The questions are stupid too. Why can't Americans find America on a map?? She says "U.S. Americans"... well hell what other kind of Americans are there?? Dee Dee Deee...
Americans can't find America on a map becuz geography's not part of standardized testing. I can guarantee you that I can write a persuasive and informative paper in a heartbeat totally bullchitting every word along the way with NO facts to back it up, becuz that was a requirement when I was in school but the football coach/geography teacher was too busy writing plays for his playbook to do anything more than check out pbs videos from the library and make us sleep during them every class. Sports have their place in the world but it shouldn't be the only thing that our schools focus on. Exercise is a must in the world today but education should be as well, and it doesn't seem to be considering how much our fellow Americans don't know.
I went to school with a girl who made Miss Texas and she was VERY smart but you couldn't tell that from the pageant and when I told her congrats for winning I told her too bad no one that doesn't know you knows how smart you are because I think that's more important than the looks and would be a better image to set for the little girls dreaming of being miss bonehead someday.
I'm just not a nice person though.

Let me correct myself for you. There are South Americans, Central Americans and North Americans. The United States of America is just a portion of North America. So the fact that she just sounded stupid saying it doesn't mean that she's incorrect, just that she sounded stupid. United States Americans probably is a correct description in all honesty but everything else she said basically took all credibility from the one phrase she did say that had some relevance to the question. If they're speaking strictly geographically instead of politically correct, then African American is an invalid term in itself.
So take the question, "Recent poles have shown 1/5 of Americans can't find the U.S. on a map. Why do you think this is?" Are they speaking of North Americans, Central Americans, South Americans or the United States of America's population when they use the blanket term "American"?? **yes I know that American is the accepted term for United States citizens, but if you wanna get technical on me, I'm willing to get techinical back** Each one would have a different answer possibility.
So she said U.S. Americans in her answer narrowing it down seemingly to the population of the United States of America because the U.S. is what they couldn't find on the map. Why make the assumption?? I'm just smart ... tail ... enough to mention the oversight in the question while answering the question... Well if you're meaning why North Americans can't find the U.S. then bla bla (insert improved education in the U.S. reference here while just ignoring Canada becuz I know squat about their education) but countries in Central and South America may not have the same educational opportunties (insert 3rd world country reference they all seem to love here).
Now even with the sarcasm wouldn't that have been a better answer than babbling a bunch of phrases that you've been taught to buy time until you think of something coherent to say and end up saying nothing coherent at all?
