Moog replacement parts

I'm doing my pitman arm on my truck and bought a moog one instead of motorcraft.....can you say beefy! You can really tell the construction is high quality, and on to top it off there is a grease fitting to boot.

Moog does make a nice, quality part, that's for sure.

When it comes time to do the ball joints on mine, my dad said to go with moog.

Just curious, typically, how does one know when to replace a pitman arm?

Yeah same here with me. I'm a little curious too as when to replace. I am thinking that everything is still factory on my truck.

Normally they do not need to be replaced for a long time ( what my mechanic said) considering the idler arm is there in support of the pitman. I dunno, I never had an alignment issue and I only have 33's on my truck.....could have something to do with premature wear but I just think i had a defective part to begin with. The new moog part really helped with the feed back I was getting in my steering. Plus with the addition of a steering stabilzer and new tie rod ends, everything feels like new again.

Just waitng for my ball joints the go....not looking forward to that job.

Thanks for the clarity xtrford about the two.

I'm also waiting for my ball joints to go. They are still original and I have 206,770 on the truck. The funny thing is I've had the truck for almost two years and still haven't had the alignment checked. I really should, but the truck travels straight and doesn't pull to either side.
