AC stopped cooling. Vent temps would not drop below 60. Took to the dealer today to trouble shoot. They say the evap core is leaking. They want a little over $900 in labor alone to replace the evap core. the guess is it will take 8.8 hours. They say they have to pull the dash out to get to it. Does this seem reasonable to you? They did put some freon in and now the temps are back in the upper 40's. but I was assured this would not last long.
They also list 3lbs of 134 at a tad over $100, but the evap core is $180.
Any thoughts?
actually I am surprised that is all that the dealer wants. I word for a shop and a/c and heater cores is all that I do and that is the correct labor time.
