Here's another tactic for shaving, but it goes against conventional shaving wisdom. While in college, I often had to wait in line for a shower, so I started shaving BEFORE my shower to save time and kill two birds with one stone (shaving and waiting in line at the same time). I found that my acne decreased dramatically and I got a closer shave. I think it was because the natural oils on my face from the previous day helped lubricate the blade, then the shower got everything good and clean. I used the Sensor blade back then, now I use the Sensor 3...Mach 3 doesn't work for me. I wet my face good with hot water (as hot as I can stand), then a golf-ball sized dollop of sensitive skin formula shave cream for the areas to be shaved. I get about 4-7 shaves out of a blade, depending on how long between shaves (more growth is harder on a blade). I have an electric razor (Norelco 3-head) for shaving on the way out the door, but I much prefer a blade.
I used to have your problem too. My brother-in-law turned me onto shaving in the shower. Just get a little shower mirror and you're set. It has to be the warm water and the steam I guess, but it worked for me.
yeah, i shave in the shower also, i use the fusion razor but as soon as a run out of blades im going back to the cheapo disposable razors i think the fusion razor is hyped up to much and honestly i cant tell the difference between the two, i read in a mens health magazine while sitting in the doctors office a few weeks ago that you need to shave with the same thing (razor, or electric razor side of a pocket knife, whatever) for a month for your face to get used it, now if thats true i dunno but i have been shaving with a razor and the same shaving cream for 3 months now and haven't got any red bumps after shaving like i used to.
I've given up on trying to stay shaved. I never dressed to impress, I have better things to worry about them what some random piece of a$$ thinks of me. I didnt put up any fake fronts, I figured a chick who dug the scruffy rugged look would probably also like the trucks and guns. I acted like myself and found a chick who was cool with that, we've been together almost 4 years.
