HFCM replacement plug question????
so i went down to the local international dealer and got this part, which was listed as part # 2589259C91 for a list price of 14.52 and actual price charged of 12.32. It appears to be brass, and so I wondered if I got the right part number and what the advantage of this will be over the stock part that I'm replacing. Also got my fuel filters while I was there.

It's just easier to remove and drain any water. Some say the factory plug strips too easy (the allen wrench side). The plug you bought can be removed with your hand and if you leave it hanging it will help direct the water past the frame.

The biggest problem with the stock one is that it can strip out making it almost impossible to get out, on the new one you don't have to use an allen wrench to loosen or tighten so no chance of stripping.
It has an o-ring seal so you only have to get it snug by hand, no need to overtighten.

i figured that it was worht the small investment based on the number of folks here that have used the replacement plug. I will put it in this weekend when doing my service. thanks for the information.
