Hello all, first time posting and hope to get some help. I have a 95 E350 box truck w/351, E4OD, and 195k. It runs fine for a while, but it gets to where it will not accelerate at all. You can not go full throttle, and climbing a hill is down to a crawl. But stopping and turning ignition off and back on will cure problem for a short time.
From going through about 20 pages of posts, it seems to be a common problem that cannot be pinpointed. I thought from reading one particular post I was going to be able to fix it, but it never ended with a fix.
Items replaced:fuel filter, wires, plugs, cap/rotor, coil, muffler, and last the ecc with no change
I was wondering if any previously mentioned fixes worked, like the colapsing fuel line, sensor for the tranny, or the torque converter.
Any info or other ideas would greatly be appreciated. I am still paying for it and insurance and I cannot drive it any where. Agian thanks for your help.
Don't get mad at me, but I had the same problem with an identical vehicle. Spent lots of money for diagnostics, and it turned out to be a clogged air filter-- it had been sucked down into the air intake pipe thingy...
I had a similar issue on a 85 T-Bird - ended up, after doing much of what you listed above, being the o2 sensor and the EGR was pretty clogged - did both at the same time so not 100% sure which was the root cause.
It would be just fine till it got warm, if I tried to get on the highway it seeemed to be bogging down almost -0- power - kinda scary.
I never did get a CEL.
