Hey Guys - Wondered if boot leaks on intercooler lines would drop mileage?Thinking it would besides robbing power but wanted to check with the experts. Thanks, Bill .
Any leaks that rob boost needs to be fixed even if it don't drop mileage. Leaks will rob performance and my thinking is if it robs performance then it probably rob MPGs as well. Why not fix the leaks if you know it there?
I spent a couple hours last night cleaning all the boots and making sure they were all good and tight. A couple of them were almost finger tight. Hoping it helps my mpg.
How are you guys testing for leaks? Soapy water sprayed on?
When I worked on Detroits we had a tool that would fit on each end of the intercooler and we would pressurize it and see if it held. You guys use anything like that?
We use something very similar. We build a rig to attach to the intake duct and pressurize the whole system. Pic in my gallery.

So I just decided to surf and read. Then the forum software displayed a message "Unregisterd Guest you need to register to view the forums Its free"
