The battery light came on yesterday and before I could get home, the radio would shut off an come nack on by itself. I assumed very low battery. Batteries are maybe a year old. Pulled the cable ends and cleaned them and the posts (it needed it!)
Then put the charger on it all night. Starts great all day but the red battery light is still on.
I checked voltage at the battery and it is charging at 13.44 Volts.
Sorry to Thread Hi-Jack, but I am having the same issue in my Girlfriends 98 Mountaineer (thread posted here).
The only reason I'm cross posting is because it's very close to the same issue. I've taken her truck to get checked out (Free places - 3 different ones), and they all say the Battery and Alternator is fine.
She has the battery light on her dash and it won't go away (I can't remember if it's flashing or not). Could it still be the alternator, or a bad cell in the battery?
On my old truck 06 F-250 6.0L PSD had problem with same issue the dealer put alt. on it first was fixed for whlie drove it home and it started to come back on took it back to the dealer and they finnally found wire circuct was bad to the light and run new wire all under warr.
