But you must consider the quality of the tire. Blem is suppose to be a non safety related quality defect and usually appearance only. So if they make a quality defect what prevents a more serious defect.
Do they sell blem airplanes,, cars,, drugs,, NO,,
Why ?
If they can't maintain quality on non-performance related items what assurance do you have that the issues you can't see are ok to put your family on.
The blems I have purchased worked ok, but gave me a wobble in the car in low speed that a 4psi increase in pressure solved. But why a wobble if it is only appearance.
No but I don't think you can strip a tire down and use it for parts on other tires. Unless you are recycling it, in which case this would be the same as crushing a car.
No but the capital investment is a car is much higher than a tire. Car's can be repaired by replacing components but tires can not. Besides I have seen a Major US tire company use the blems to line the local parks in the towns where I have lived before. They normally cut a 1x1" square hole in the side wall. The tires make great walkways.
But I would not drive on them.
As for my car,, I don't feel bad if the alternator is replace with a new one.

Best of luck, have a nice day. Jim
I was responding to your original post that they don't sell blem'd cars. They do. If they punch a 1x1 hole in a tire I wouldn't drive on it either. If a car company punched a hole in a car that made it non-repairable I wouldn't drive it either.
Most are just cosmetic blems. Something like a letter messed up or name mispelled. I have seen a lot of atv blem tires and some interco blems. They performed good and wasn't anyting wrong that wasnt cosmetic.
I've read reliable reports of new vehicles incurring modest damage while being delivered...They send them back to the Mfg and they are crushed or used for testing...
The Mfg's can't take the chance that a 'repaired' new vehicle will be sold as a 'new' vehicle...they would be open to all kinds of legal action and repetition damage in the public eye!
I've heard of a lot of people having problems with that particular vendor. While I personally have had no dealings with them, I would be very careful to research their customer service ethics, etc. before doing business with them. Especially since you are considering buying something that is noted as a blemish, you could have problems with the product and returning them if it is something bigger than a blemmish. Hey, maybe they can even throw in some fake mud and bullet holes for ya?
