You NAILED that one, thank's a lot EPA,was a post on here about 2 week's ago from a guy called highway prisoner or something,he haul's rv's from Indiana to westeran canada, his signature show's 663,700+ mile's on his 02 7.3 and listed his repair's,couple waterpump's,CPS'S,sencer's ,starter's and altnater's,that's going to be hard to top and he's shotting for a million mile's,he might just make it ,he's 2/3's of the way there.

I have the AFE and SCT and I have been throwing the P2002 code also but only after i regen for the next 2 days the code will come on twice I clear it and it will never come back until I regen again I spoke to SCT and he said this was news to them and it was a bull***** code and not to worry so I just clear it when it come one every once in a while... Interesting this is happening to more people I never thought anything about it.

my truck runs like crap with the check engine light on. I'm mainly waiting to get this fixed before i purchase a SCT Tuner or the Edge programmer. So right now, I can't clear my own codes. Last time Ford charged $125.00 to reflash.

Even if white smoke is normal, it is very annoying and embarrassing. The people next to me and behind don't know what to think when my truck is flooding the highway with white smoke. I would have thought that there would be an easier way to burn off the soot. I cant wait to take off the DPF.

For someone who dosen't drive a 6.4 you should MYOB. How can you judge something that you know nothing about. I DO own/drive a 6.4 and have nothing but praise for it. By the way if you had done your homework you would know that the 7.3 was dropped because it could not meet emissions and the 6.4 was designed to meet current emission standards. What do you drive, a Toyota??

Hello Nick,
We are trying to resolve these issues with this 6.4L! Its almost 1 out of few trucks have this problem. Has your 6.4L had the updated Re-flash? What is the production date?

The updated tube that we sent out works on almost all of these 6.4L's that have this issue. Thank You for being patient and we will take care of this as fast as we can and send you the correct tube or kit needed!

Build date on mine is 02/07 and the stock intake looks to be all hard plastic.

Why is the Intake causing codes to come up that have to do with the exhaust.

I have heard good things about Afe, but are we just paying Gini pigs with our $50,000.00 trucks for you to figure it out? Wheres the R&D for these products? Sorry but im a little agatated at this point.

The build date on my truck is 02/07 as well. I just got off a 3 day stretch of work and a complete new intake has arrived for me to try out. Tomorrow I will do the install and see what happens. I'm guessing the CEL will come back. I'll keep you guys posted.

Again I will say, everyone at AFE has been great with their help so in no way am I slammin them...

Nick

The stock Donaldson has proven to be an excellent flowing, high filtration intake. Why would you guys want to "upgrade" with a downgrade?

Ford couldnt have stayed with the 7.3 much longer anyways. That wasnt a performance motor, yes it can be modded to be one but it's not easy. people would start complaining about ford just like they are with the f150's. Wanting to no why they dont make a more performance type motor. So if you ask me yes the 7.3 was a great motor but it's time was up, ford made the right choice to move on.

I have an '08 350 that I installed a Magaflow Particulate Filter Back Exhaust on as well as an AFE Stage 2 Cold Air Box. My check engine light has been on most of the time since I installed the AFE unit. I have 18K miles on my 6.4 and have just about given up on the after market parts. Coming across the desert recently in 111 degree weather my truck de-fueled and I had to coast over to the side of the road and let it rest for awhile before starting up again. What good is a truck that can't run properly in hot weather? I bought it to haul a fifthwheel but I was not hauling anything when the EGT's caused it to shut down.
I am right on the verge of putting it back to stock and selling it.
The AFE rep told me on the phone that he would consult with his engineer and get back to me with a fix. I hope it's not a new tube that doesn't work any better than the on that's on the truck now.

Ford engineers designed the truck to operate properly within narrow well defined parameters. If you mod it and results are unsatisfactory it is not the trucks fault. Seems these new engines don't take kindly to changes. I pulled wrenches on Cat 3208 diesels for many years. They were simple and forgiving engines. I wouldn't know where to start if I had to work on my 6.4 today. I got a feeling that as these trucks become more computer controlled, the mods that we use today will become useless.
