When I bought my 88 F150 the previous owner put on a lift he had the I beams in the 6" holes with 4" springs. He had 3 sets of the twist in spacers trying to get the other 2 inches out of it. It half way worked. I have since replaced the springs with the correct ones. But the spacers were not going to shoot out. I think that the spacers are designed for weak or old coil springs. They arn't really designed to provide lift. They are actually called spring stiffeners. But as I stated before they make your truck ride like @#$%.
