i have a horn off a train for my truck. the only thing stopping me from putting it on is i cant seem to find that perfect place to mount the horn. compressor and air tank.
k5la? is that the 7 horn set-up thats about 3 feet wide? if so you'll never get the air needed to power it, my buddy has a set that were on his big rig, played with them in the shop. the air inlet hole was 1 1\2 inches, i necked it down to a 1\2 inch air line and plumbed it firect to the compresser, loud as crap but still needed more volume, i dont know how big the real train air tanks are but they have to be massive in order to power those things

the k5la is a 5 horn setup. it is a damn loud horn. i did alot of research when buying my horn. and the k series horns are whats on locomotives nowadays. and you are right they do take a lot of air to run.
I tried to mount it last night there is just not enough room under there. It is about 3.5 feet wide and about 18" long. I think I am going to have to custom make a manifold for it. The inlet is 1/2" so I can get enough air with 2-8" by 3' tanks. I sounded it off last night with the compressor and the neighbors came running. Not sure they like it though. I stopped at a big rig salvage yard last night and they are going to get me the tanks. It will surely vibrate the ground. It is brand new and never been on a train, very nice looking. I was going to take a pic but left my camera at work. Maybe tonight.

these are the ones i am lookin at getting, siege has some badass stuff, the 3 horn sounds better then the 4 to me, you can check out there other ones and listen to them all
i bought my horn from them off ebay. i agree the 3 horn sounds the best out of all the horns...i bought the anvil one though and it came with a tank and a compresoor and everything to install it.
Those sound pretty loud and obnoxious!! I figure you have a big mASS truck, you need a need a big gASS horn eh?
oh yeah i agree with you...nowadays its not good enough to just have a big truck and be seen....you need to be seen and heard!
because of work im in my truck about 1 and a half hours on a good day...sometimes more. and i always have people pulling out in front of me or cutting me off...or driving like half of the speed limit. and i just found that my stock horn isnt cutting it anymore...it doesnt even affect some people...so i had to get something a little louder...i cant wait to get it installed!
