Oh, I should get the Video Camcorder set up. I'll be up most likely. I think there is a time lapse setting. Also-Doesn't it only take about 15 min to happen?
Clear as a bell here right now.... We'll see. The fog might make it in this far. I hope not tonight.

08/27/2007 - Residents in the Central Valley are expected to have one of the best views on Earth for an unusual total eclipse of the Moon early Tuesday morning.
During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon's disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red to dark brown and (rarely) very dark gray, according to the Web site of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
A total eclipse of the Moon occurs during the early morning of Tuesday, August 28, 2007. The event is widely visible from the United States and Canada as well as South America, the Pacific Ocean, western Asia and Australia.
Lunar eclipses are not unusual but a total eclipse visible from California is a less common event.
From start to finish, the easily visible portion of Augusts' lunar eclipse lasts about three hours and 33 minutes, NASA says. The eclipse begins at 1:51 a.m., with the total eclipse starting at 2:52 a.m.
Just tried to snap a picture - all I got was a white dot too small to enlarge. Moon looks neat using the spotting scope - but it is very heavy to hold still.
Too bad you guys from the Bay area couldn't see it - it is a full eclipse now. The moon is still visible, but is a dim red disk with a hint of yellow. There is a darker shadow in what I would call the north east quadrant.
My guess is that NASA will have some pictures on the net - or one of the San Fran Universities.
It is off to bed for me - Dan will be here early in the morning and I would hate for him to catch me asleep!
I can see it .... It looks like a peach balloon. It's Kewl. I'm taking video and snapping shots I'll post a couple in a couple of hours .... Full Eclispe (sp)
I'll try to make a time lapse DVD ... It would be cool.
Just give you a appreciation for the human eye and what it can do.
The cameras I have are good .... but, it gets real grainy when the light level is as low as it is now. I haven't used the super nite shot yet. I'll try in a minute. I lose all color when I go to that mode however.
