I did a search and came up empty but I'm sure I've seen the info on here somewhere?
What I'm looking for is which year/model ranger came with a 114inch wheel base? Is there a listing someplace of the available wheel bases year to year?
In a 1992 Ranger sales booklet I have it shows the wheelbase to be 113.9" for the standard cab with the long bed. But on the previous page it lists the wheelbase as 114". They must have rounded it off. A tenth of an inch isn't much. There again it was for the standard cab with long bed. Since this was for the "92", it would also apply for the other years back to "89", which was the same series. Not sure of the first or third generations.

Thanx Rangerman, after surfing some other sites, I came to the same conclusion, standard cab w/7ft box has the 114" wheel base but I'm not sure when it changed.
Can any one confirm after '92 if the same aplies?? At least I have something to work with now but I haven't seen a lot of long bed rangers around.
Just found more info at Wikipedia encyclopedia about the Ranger wheelbase. Looks like all "83" to "97" standard cab Rangers with the long box had the 113.9" wheelbase. Then it changed in "98" to the current dimensions. Looks like they have a lot of good info.
Both XL and XLT Rangers are available in Regular Cab and SuperCab configurations; SuperCabs are available with either two or four doors. SuperCabs are based on a long 126-inch wheelbase, while Regular Cabs are available in short-wheelbase (112 inches) and long-wheelbase (118 inches) versions.
That is an article I found on the 2000 model year Ranger.
Thanks guys, this gives me a fairly wide range too look for. In case your wondering,....my '47 Fordor has a 114" wheel base so I am investigating the possibility of dropping the body on a Ranger frame and keeping everything in the Ford family.
Next step is to find myself a long box ranger and start taking some measurements.
hello frank
its been awile since i last talked with the guys here at FTE ,
if you are looking for a ford ranger that may fit your needs , look beside haugens in port perry, the body shop there has a ranger about the year of Al's that they are selling for $500.00 obo
