limp home mode means something serious could be wrong...if im correct the truck wont let you get over a certain amount of rpm's/speed to prevent something getting torn up in your engine...just get it to the dealership ASAP and dont drive fast!!

There is a reason for the light.

Better to be safe than sorry, I would get it to the dealer, it should still be under warranty and it is not worth waiting. It might be a bad sensor, but In my experience the notification lights are not there for giggles....

Best Luck..

That's the "Damn, I hope this thing is still under warranty!" light.

Wrench shaped light is for the fuel water seperator on diesels. It needs to be drained.

That light being lit and "Limp Home Mode" are two totally different things.

The wrench light means that there is a problem with your electronic throttle. The accellerator is controlled electronically now, no more cables. Usually the truck will default to a limp mode when the light comes on but I would get it checked out ASAP because if it goes out completely you may get no throttle input.

I had the same problem, wrench light on my '06 6.0 PSD. I took it to the dealer and he showed me a service bulletin that instructed reflashing of the engine computer as the solution. They did that and I haven't seen the wrench light since.
