Oh yeah. I can't wait to start modding this one, lol. I have to save up some cash first though. I think my first mod will be a good set of gauges. Then exhaust.. then chip time
You'll love how that 6.0 works! I'll admidt that when mine broke the branch tube and was in the shop for 2 months, I hated the 6.0 motor. But now that it's back on the road and running great, I can't beat it. Mine's still stock and gets around 19-20 highway mpg and around 14-16 towing my mud truck.
Speaking of mud truck, now that you have a good tow rig, are you coming down to Richmond, VA this coming Sat (Sept 1) for the mud bog (www.muddinformoney.com)? A few of us from the VA chapter will be there either running our trucks or going for broke!!
I think the 6.0 is 325/550. I'm not sure which controller I'll go with yet, but my dad knows someone at the local trailer shop so I guess I'll get whatever he can get me a deal on. It pulls much harder than my dad's 7.3 dually with 4.30s, so there was a significant power increase with the 6.0.
I did an OASIS on this 6.0 before I bought it and the worst repair was a tranny flush, so i think its one of the "good ones". I don't think I'll be able to make it this weekend though. I have work(gotta pay for this thing! lol) and school starts the next monday, so I need to get ready for that.
I'm not sure if I want to do stacks yet. I love the look of them, but I don't know if I want to cut holes in my bed, loose the ability to put a toolbox there, and I might have clearance issues when I get a gooseneck.
yea, i didnt think about the holes in the bed. but there in a guy up the road from me tha drives a shortbed dodge with small 5" stacks with a tool box, and i see him pulling a 5th wheel camper all the time.
If a dodge will do it, then a Ford will do it better!
Nice truck, the rear doors are a little short though. Kiding!
I've been looking for a SD for a little while now, 7.3's are super reliable, but the 6.0's are flat out fast! I drove one yesterday and was very impressed. I'm just leary of the 03-04's. I've done a ton of Oasis searches on local trucks, and have finally found one without a bad paper trail. Just have to convince the BOSS, err I mean wife!
