Hello Ive got a 1988 f150 302 auto that will not shut off when you turn off the key. I have replaced ignition switch and have no idea where to go from there. what could be wrong i have to pull the eec relay to shut off the truck which is geting old so any ideas.
Well ive tried the alternator I unhooked and it just keeps running. Now the relay is new and ford has replaced it four times so I dont know

The relay has nothing to do with it, when you pull the relay you cut power the EEC and the injectors stop firing and the engine dies.
Pulling the relay will not turn off the power to the ignition system.
So you are keeping power on to both the EEC power relay and the Ignition System. This would have to be the Ignition switch or the adjustment of the Ignition Switch.
You say you replacrd the ign. switch. Was it the ign./start switch under the dash or the key switch on the column? If it was the the electrical switch under the dash then you possibly need to replace the ign. switch actuator which connects the key switch to the ign. switch.
okay the actuator did not think of that i replaced the switch under the dash and the key one how whould i check the actuator or do i need a new column.
The actuating rod runs down from the key switch along the bottom of the steering column to the switch down near the brake. I could never figure how to get into mine, I paid about 120.00 to have it replaced at the shop, parts and all.
