I like Chrome, I have have a buddy had some Smoked chrome powder coating done. It looked pretty good and he said it was a lot cheaper and faster than chrome plating
Painted isn't as resistant to road objects, scratches and etc. chrome is more durable.
Get a price to chrome your bumper. Like Tex said it is a long process to do right. $350 to chrome a bumper is not out of the question depending on what work needs to be done to get it smooth.
I looked at your gallery and your truck really looks good. I'm not a big fan of chrome but, with all of the shiny stuff you have, I would have to vote "chrome". I can't see having a bumper painted to match the truck with a big chrome grill. Maybe my imagination is a little off but I think it would look strange. Besides, you have the shiny rocker panals so the chrome bumper would just fit. Hope you like whatever you choose. Good luck.

That looks interesting!
I decided to paint some of my bumper to de-chrome it a little...There was too much and it took away from the headlights and grille...I couldn't justify buying a whole new bumper either.
So I taped off a section, sanded it down, got a can of spray-in bed liner and coated it. I didn't want to use paint b/c it would just chip off and look horrible. (I also coated my tool box with this stuff too) I finished it off with a black pin stripe. Looks pretty trick, and really pulls the grill and headlights out.
Good luck! Let us know what you decide.

Just waiting for the Fed-EX guy now...Bushwackers should be in today
Im interested to hearing more about this smoked chrome powdercoating. Ive tried at least 12 places yesterday, one said they could chrome a bumper, but it would take a month to even get started and could not give me a price. I might be takin the paint route, since this isnt working like i wanted it to, and if i still dont like the paint, ill just buy the chrome one from fords for 280$.
I was going to do what you did with the paint on my current bumper, but it got crashed in the mean time, so i figured to just buy the 05 bumper. Yours looks really good though good job.

i wasnt sure when i got my bumper powdercoated, if i was going to go white (i have the sport package) or a flat textured black...the flat textured black matches all the trim on my truck perfectley...the mirrors, bed rails ect. it looks really good ( see my gallery)...i voted paint, but would suggest powder coat and they can match your paiont exactley for the right price...mine cost me 200 bucks, only because i hate chrome!!! here is a pic of my rims im getting on next week along with a 6" lift. they are powder coated black chrome.
