My 2001 F150 XLT has a clicking sound that comes from the engine. It seems to be related to the revs because it gets faster as i step on the gas. Is this normal? if not, how can I fix it?
They all make the ticking, clicking, exhaust leaking noise, my 99 does, had it to the dealer,no fix ,I have posted this at least 20 times and nobody knows what it is.
I just found out what mine was, a spongy #1 lifter. If not
repaired soon it will swallow a push rod. I am aware of the weird
exhaust noise these things make, that was not it. This was louder and abnormal.I'm an ASE certified master tech with 23 yrs. exp. in
engine repair. I would not trust my truck to the Ford dealer
inasmuch as most of thier so called techs are apprentices.
