Talked to Chris at sniper. We have it ready to load the stock file tonight and should get me back on the road. Then he will have to give another code to get me back to features. Figured once I was able to chat with these guys the solution would be simple. Just a pain that I disabled my vehicle without any recourse til 10am Monday. Sure would like to see some support for "my vehicle won't run" problems. Anyway, Looks good, although I am confused about shift point control for the tranny. But I will try it out to see how it adjusts.

Still excited about getting the tune into this thing .

Are you using Special Forces? Mine came with two Bullets.

Be careful with the 1-2 shift point, I tried going up 300 rpm over stock and I couldn't shift out of first at WOT. 200 was iffy, but 100 works now. Then I upped 2-3 to 200 over stock and 3-4 to 300 overstock. I think I am going to back down 3-4, I am getting up to 65 and the power flattens out. I think a shift might be in order.

I am using the special forces. Still figuring out what it will do. Sadly, the reason I bought it was to correct the shifts after the 28% gear change. I need to lower my shifts. It only changes WOT, so my normal shifting is not improved. However, putting a 91 tune in did help the shifts come down a bit. Seems to have helped power above 3k. Hard to tell just yet. I happen to have 2 gallons of Toluene 10% mixed with 91 in the tank. So runs really good. We shall see after I run that out and get back to straight pump gas.

Chris at sniper is very good and helpful.

Hey Guys, Wanted to thank everyone for the here for the help.
Been running the Sniper for a little bit now and thought I should share about the experience. Setting aside the shift point adjustments, the tuner is excellent. So pleased with the 91 octane tune that I have not touched it. The truck runs much better. Part throttle is sweet. I have the datalogger to try still. May find some indicaters for more but it runs so much better just where it is.
Now if I can dig up the money for the tranny shift control I will be in Ford Heaven.

They have the data logger ready?

I have been waiting on that, and I was hoping Chris was going to email me when it was ready.

Yes it came with my tuner. called recon *****. Looks pretty cool. I plan to hook it up to the truck today and try it out. Sad that I have been to busy to play with it.

ReAx,
Pulled a data log yesterday. VERY interesting. I will be starting another thread about what I have discovered. The ignition appears to be very lazy and falls off for no reason. This may help us understand why many of us get lower MPG while others are up. From wht I recorded, I could raise the entire timing table by 15 degrees with no impact for 87 octane. I currently have a 91 tune in it.

Call Chris and he will give you a return authorization number for your interface , you will have to UPS them your interface and they will update it with the RECON and send you the interface and the RECON software back , you might want to check with him on your SF software as well to see if you have the older version of that and the multiloader program that both may need upgrading as well to work with the RECON ........

what are your load numbers compared to your timing ? they are directly related so if you hit a little bit of a hill while datalogging the timing will fall some ......

Without writing a book here. The timing pulls back at times with lower load/power settings then just moments prior or after. No rhyme or reason except it thinks it is knocking.

I have figured out a few things with the tuner and have pulled quite a bit more timing into the motor. Found an immediate improvement is fuel consumption. It does not pull timing as bad on the hwy like before. The motor is waking up some. If timing stays in the motor will actually pull in OD without downshifting around town. Would like to eliminate the yank of timing during shifts, but that feature is on the big dog upgrade. lol

A visit to a dyno will be required at some point.
