The same thing happened to our 04 Escape and it was the front bearings. Thank god it was under warranty. Ours made the tire noise that you describe since we bought it new. It just kept getting louder and louder. I always thought that it was the cheap tires that came with it.

well i went out and baught a hub assem so that prob shouls be fixed. it seems easy enough. will let you know.

well ireplaced the hub assem and that took care of the noise i was hearing. it was super easy. to easy considering the price of the part.
