I looked at a Quadzilla commander today. It is a nice looking unit , but, I really want more. I am going to hold off to see if Matt can bring in the DashDAQ. I want to be able to hook up additional real world sending units (sensors) and read them. I am still watching the DashHawk but will only go there if they bring in the second unit that will accept the EGT + 3 other real world sensors. I would really LOVE digital guages that would take all the obd-2 readings plus allow me to run 4 additional optional sensors. rc
Thanks guys for all your input. I'm going to go with the XCal tuned by Matt. Two quick questions. First, what brand of gauges should I be looking at? I want quality and style but I do not want to spend an arm and a leg. Second, Does anyone make a gauge pod in a tan or beige? All I can find is black. Again, thank you all very much.
My truck came with a Hypertech 41042 unit. Its not as good as the SCT but I doubt I'll change it. I have no plans to race my truck. I do plan to get a good 4 inch exhaust someday. The Hypertech gives good power increases & shifts. Its rated at Stage 1/56hp 84 tq Stage 2/82hp 123tq & Stage 3/100hp 176tq. It can be changed on the go. I do want a good set of gauges before I start towing anything heavy. I plan to get a 24 ft or bigger camper to tow. I would get a excal 2 with custom tunes if I wanted to race the truck. I had a SCT9100 with custom tunes by Troyer Performance on my old F150. It was the best tuner I tried on my F150.

the gauge pods come in black, but there are paint cans designed to match interior color and are made for painting gauge pods.
also, if you want a clean, quality look, you can go with ISSPRO gauges, they look factory
i think they are a way cleaner look than autometer, which look flashy and cheap in comparison.
so to answer your question: isspro gauges, and paint the pods with the correct paint.
the oil bypass filter is a very small particle filter. the filter media is so fine, that you could not possibly use it for your main oil filter, as you could not get enough pressure/flow through it. so you run a 'bypass' where a small amount of oil at a time is run the filter and back to the oilpan. eventually all the oil will make it's way thru this filter and you will have much cleaner oil than with running the factory one alone.
i'm not too familiar with the coolant filter, but i have to believe it's about the same.
