X-plan is the ticket. I bought my 08 F250 using an x-plan pin (a number that is registered with Ford by your Ford x-plan sponsor, a Ford employee, for you and associated with the last 4 digits of your SSN). The dealer invoice has the xplan price listed. It is slightly below dealer invoice. The invoice is to be shown to you if you are an x-plan participant. You can see the dealer hold-back. It also lists the A-plan and Z-plan prices as well. The dealer also gets a form of commission on the deal. They cannot charge fees other than the TT&L fees.

Just out of curiosity, how much was dealer hold-back on your truck?

The X-Plan is a set price, based off a calculation using the Factory Invoice price of a vehicle.

For Ford and Mercury vehicles, the calculation is as follows: The Factory Invoice Price X .996 + $75 = The X-Plan Price.

The X-Plan price is listed on the Dealer copy of the Factory Invoice, in a box labeled "X-Plan". The Dealer is required to show you the Original Invoice, and provide a copy to you.

This X-Plan price already includes all fees and charges. So the Dealer should add no extra fees or charges to your "Purchase Contract". No "Destination Fee". No "Documentation Fee". No " Dealer Prep Fee", etc, etc. Again all fees are already included in the X-Plan price, other than tax, registration and title.

So are you paying the "Destination Fee"? Yes. But it is already incorporated into the X-Plan price, so you should not see a "Destination Fee" listed on your contract.

When all is said and done, your purchase price should look something like this:

The Initial X-Plan Price (it is listed on the Invoice, in a box labeled "X-Plan Price", which the Dealer is required to show you)
+ Any Dealer installed options or Extended Service Plan (agreed upon by you)
= Subtotal
+ State and Local Sales Taxes
= Subtotal
- Any Incentives and Rebates you qualify for
= Subtotal
+ Title and Registration
= Your Final X-Plan Price

Hope this information helps.
Good luck...and hope this helps.
