I was driving back from the sportsmans club the other nite with two of my buddies (who happen to both own 5.9 cummins 05-07) and we were in my truck. Left the gas station (had the munchies) and this new white cummins comes running up past us and it sounded horrible.. Even the guys that were with me said how bad it sounded compared to my truck and all they could say was " i hope my truck doesnt sound like that when i'm beside a powerstroke" It was awsome hearing that from them... I would have ripped it up past that dudge, but i only have a front driveshaft at the moment and they knew that... They didint even ask me to try and catch him they were just so unimpressed with the sound of their kind of truck that they hated to even hear it again agaist the mighty roar of the 7.3
the sad part is i had a Min 90's uncle Bens box try to mess with me the other day i told him to come find me in a week when the truck was fixed..... He tried to do a burnout and the car fell on it's face and stalled i couldnt stop laughing.. I put it on 140 smoke in PARK and just reved it once he left very quietly
I absolutely hate the way Cummins sound, glad Im not the only one, I love the sound of straight piped 7.3, and especially 6.0s. I dont even like the raspy sound of a duramax..
i have a friend who has a duramax and so does his brother his is pretty modded up, but he always try to knock my truck for being a " knockity *******" i say atleast my truck makes a noise like a diesel should listen to the big rigs they all make noise
Some of the Dodge Cummins sound like a continous wet fart from a person with a fat ***.
Any time my dad passes me in my truck he says all he can here is a whistling sound plus the tire howl. I have a 03 F-450 the drive tires howl fairly loud.
If I take off going up a hill I crank the engine up to 2500-3000 (6spd manual) the tires and the whistle is prominant and the truck torqued up.
When I first got the truck it still had the factory General LMT400 tires on the back I had to be carefull they spun easy even on dry pavement. If I pulled a hill fast I noticed some wheel spin. The rear diff has a Detroit True trac so it makes both duals grab. When I put new bandag gripper tread caps on man what a difference you get on the throttle nothing spins it launches you forward
My bother has a 94 Dodge Cummins its loud you can't even talk over the engine noise. I drive class 8 trucks time to time a 400 Big Cam Cummins is quieter than a 12 vavle 5.9. The newest Cummins sounds like a singer sewing machine it doesn't even sound like a diesel.
Personally my ears can't take loud noise anymore I'am only 31 but I have to wear ear muffs when driving big truck or working around any machinery. Even using a lawn mower I need to wear ear muffs. I guess I spend too many of my younger years not wearing hearing protection when working around noise.
