In my 94 PSD 5-speed, I feel like I have to push the the clutch in through the fire wall to get the starter to fire off. Is this a sensor problem or is there a dirty switch?
Check to see if the plastic bushing in the clutch master cylinder pushrod eye is worn out or missing. It keeps the pushrod eye centered on the pedal linkage rod. If it's worn out, the pushrod won't travel quite as far and your switch may be right on the edge of allowing the rig to start.
Mine had the same problem. I temporary fixed it with new parts from the dealer. Go Cuda's route and you will be done forever. Get a good cutting tool though that metal is hard.
