Can anyone tell me the difference between the Super Crew in the F-150 and the Super Cab in a F-250/350?
I want to purchase a 3/4 or 1-ton Ford with full size second row seats. It appears that the Super Cab is this... but Ford's web-site doesn't explain this.
Actually I meant to say Super Crew vs Crew Cab. It looks like the F250/350 Crew Cab has 4 full size doors. If so, what is the difference between Super Crew and Crew Cab?
A SuperCrew is a 1/2 ton. The others are 3/4 or 1 tons
1/2's are designed for regular use. Super Duty 3/4's are for serious pulling/work. I'd say you only need the 1/2 ton unless you plan on pulling all the time with heavy loads.
Sorry about the confusion... I was wanting to know the differences as it pertains to the CAB. I know the differences between 1/2, 3/4 and 1 tons.
The F-150 comes in a Super Crew -- four doors, two rows of full-size seats. This is cool... except I want a 1 ton. There is no "Super Crew" in a 3/4 or 1 ton. They have a Crew Cab that resembles the Super Crew... but I was curious on the differences. Why the different names?
The differance is ....body styles. You can get a 1 ton loaded like a SuperCrew. But you cannot get a SuperCrew with tow capacity of the 1 ton. The interior dimensions will vary a little but since you indicated that you need a 1 ton. The die is cast.
I think I see what you are getting at, and the answer is "none". Its marketing. I think they wanted the mainstream truck (f-150) to sound like Super Cab, but instead its SuperCrew. Additionally, I don't think the supercrew is available in long bed versions, whereas you can get 250 and 350's with 4 real doors and a really long bed (a reall LOONG truck). So a Crew cab is just that a cab that will hold a crew (6 guys). Where a SuperCrew is a little more civilized and doesn't have the capacity of a real Crew Cab truck.
