I just got new headlights because the ones that I repaced were looking very dim at night. After putting the new ones in, I noticed that my daytime running lights werent coming on. Also, the new headlights are about the same brightness as the old ones. I think there's an issue somewhere. Anyone got any ideas why the DRL wouldnt be working? is there a fuse or module I can check??
Your new headlamps may be drawing off more problem than your old ones and thus limited the power your daytime running lights. I'm sure you could measure the voltage and figure it out.
Don't know what you're working on, but if it's a 97 Explorer & the fog lights are also not working, check mini fuse 8 under the hood in the power distribution box.
I was told battery "should" be replaced. From what I saw, it was still passable, I'll get one before our harsh winter comes for sure, and get the alt checked out.
Drove tonight for first time with the new headlights, definately a bit brighter than the old ones, but DRL still arent working. Not a big deal, as I could care less for them anyways. Just hope it's not a sign of a big failure
Well I tested out the charing system, everything is within spec.
The battery terminal was very very coroded, broke it loosening the terminal. When the blower fan was off and you'd switch it to full blast, the voltage would drop quite a bit and come back up, now it hardly drops.
As for the DRL, they still do not work. Lights are much brighter at night. Everything's all good as far as I'm concerned.
