I would like to lower my Ranger and Iwas wondering if anyone has had any experience with lowering the front? Mine is a '94 Supercab. I do not want a radical drop, just a few inches. Do lowering springs on the front show a big difference or are the "Dream I-Beams" the better alternative? I figured I am going to flip the rear axle and shim the carrier bearing up to prevent driveline vibration, but the front is where I have the questions. Thanks!
Well... Us boys down here in Sunny South Florida do not have any mud nor snow to play in so instead of going higher we go low. I have the I-beams so spindles are out of the question... Thanks.
If you check out my Ranger in my gallery you'll see my 94 Splash Supercab. I to have the same $#!TTY twin I-beam front suspension. All hardware on all trucks from 88-97 are all identical. The only difference is in the springs. So merely springs will lower the front up to 2", but 3" is too low. Dropping 3" in the front on springs alone maxes alignment adjustments. Not good. If you are going the route of flipping the rear axle, then getting the "dream beams" are your only choice. A great bonus for dream beams is that they keep the factory ride, while dropping the front end 3" instantly. If money is an issue, then the dream beams will be tough to swallow at $300 on the low end for a pair. While a set of springs are relatively cheap at $50ish. Hope this helps some. I can give tons of input on your truck and its suspension if you want.
I'd like to lower mine a similar amount, about 1.5-2in front, about 3.5 in the rear. I may look into Splash springs. About the only way to do it is springs unless you go to a custom setup. More drop and you can flip and get I-beams.
I'm still kicking myself for not buying the bolt-in 4-link air bag setup out of a '97 I found at the junkyard.

Ooooohh a 4-link at the junkyard! What a jackpot. It is too bad you didn't get it though.
I am going to look into the Splash springs... I really do not want to go with I-beams. As for the rear, I have already did a shackle flip and that lowered the rear to a level ride height. I was thinking about a set of drop shackles or mono leafs because I think the flip kit is going to be too much when it is all said and done.
i got a 94 supercab splash that i dropped 3-4 using belltech's i beams and rear shackle and hangars, but i dropped it 8 years ago so their might be other alternatives now like springs.
