I'm having issues with my cruise on my 2000 Excursion as well. I bought almost two months ago....It worked great with no issue and now the "cruise" light comes on, but immediately goes out and the cruise isn't working. Someone on here told me to check the clock spring, but I'm not having issues with my horn. I say that because it just seemed that the clock springs were bad if the horn wasn't working.....Does someone know where i can go to get a maintanence Manaul or just instructions on how to do this job?
I'm wondering if my parking brake has something to do with this because I vaguely remember my cruise working and then after I used my parking brake, it didn't. My brake light isn't on, but I sort of feel my brakes sticking after disengaging them.
Anyway, I want to rule everything out before i tear my steering wheel off.
I just took my 03 7.3L in to the dealer and had them diagnose the cruise. They check switches, pressure switch and the sensor on the rear dif and came to the conclusion that it is the abs module / ecu under the dash. the part number they used was 5c7z2c219b to the tune of about $500 this may be simular to what is going on in your truck. My ABS light dosent stay on or anything like that. So it is a thought. Good luck....
