Hey, My dad really needs your help rite now. Today we was driving around and stopped at autozone. Truck was running like it should. Came out and turned the key to the run position and the guages went over and relays started clicking, We shut it off and it did it again. Then we tried to start it and it wouldnt crank. I looked in the fuse panel and felt for warm relays or any burning smell and nothing. Went into autozone and asked if they could read codes. He came out and they said it wouldnt read, im not sure if they can read codes. I got a Volt meter and checked the voltage in the battery and both had 12.6, We disconnected both battery cables and i erased the memory and put them back on and still the same thing. Then we tried it one more time and then the guages went up to about 60 mph and got stuck, and now its totally dead, as in it wont do anything. I noticed if i played around with the key a little it would do different clicking, when i say playin around i mean having it in the run position and try to pull the key out. Well I pulled it to the Ford dealer and theyre closed and i want to ask all of you what you think is wrong before my dad spends tons of money. WUT HAPPENED??????? HELP!
Yes it does have a PCM, I don't think memory is your problem, although your PCM could be. Sounds like something has shorted out or fried you PCM. Hopefully one of the real PSD gurus will be here soon to help. One more question, Has it been raining where your at?
Check for a water leak under the dash that may have dripped water down on to a wiring harness. Sounds like water may have gotten into a wiring harness and shorted out you pcm, or even gotten to you PCM. The PCM is under the drivers dash close to the parking brake.
