You're forgetting the twisted and broken frames in the early '90s when they 1st put the Cummins in the Dodge pickups. GM also had frame cracks early on with the dmax HD trucks....
I think it's the torque that'd do it, and mostly the ones I mentioned above were pulling something heavy. Can't you just visualize that twist getting a decent size trailer moving?
They (GM) surely will beef the frame up on a half ton after the cracking early on with the HD hydroformed frames....
